best smart home controller
Linxura Smart Home Controller
This compact pack-like device can control up to 52 smart home devices via an iPod-like scroll wheel. Compatibility with a wide range of platforms including Alexa, Sonos, LIFX, and Philips sets it apart from other physical smart home controllers. Support for Matter and Google Home will be added in a future update.
This little gadget's E Ink screen allows you to view up to four devices at once. Rolling the click wheel will take you to the add device page and the scene to control the device. His Linxura's decision to choose his E-ink over an LCD display has paid off, as the controller can last him up to three months on a single charge. When it finally runs out of charge, plug the USB-C charger into the port on the back to charge it.
Click the wheel once to turn on the selected device, double-click to turn it off. However, you can also click and hold and rotate clockwise or counterclockwise, allowing the wheel to adjust various smart home device functions such as brightness, temperature, and volume. Linxura also sells wall mounts for the device on its website. This way, you can leave it attached to the headrest of your bed or even to the wall in your kitchen where more people can access and use it. This is much like a smart light switch, but applies to all connected devices in your home. The Linxura Smart Controller is available now for $99.
best smart lights
Nanoleaf permanent outdoor lighting
Like the Govee permanent outdoor lighting kit we reviewed last year, Nanoleaf's smart outdoor lighting system is weatherproof and can be left outdoors year-round. These multi-colored lights add extra visibility and style to your home's outdoor spaces, such as your front yard or backyard.
The Nanoleaf app allows you to switch between shades and animated patterns. These lights sync with Nanoleaf's new Orchestrator desktop app to use your computer directly as a sound source. This allows you to sync your lights and travel with clean audio from any music streaming platform or audio player.
As it stands, most smart lights use your smartphone or tablet's built-in microphone to sync the smart light to your beats. Unfortunately, hearing passing cars or people talking nearby can ruin the effect. The new lights are expected to arrive in spring 2024, and prices will be announced at a later date.

Masu. In addition to that, the base itself is cleaned and the mop is washed in hot water and then blow-dried to ensure everything is clean to prevent odors. This Roborock variant of his can also be connected directly to your home's plumbing pipes, providing the robot with clean water and drainage without having to fill or empty the tank. The S8 MaxV Ultra will be available from Roborock this April for $1,800.
best home robot
samsung barry robot
AI had a large presence in Samsung's smart home lineup, from appliances like bespoke smart refrigerators to the latest televisions. Samsung's Ballie AI robot can project video, control smart home devices, map your smart home using LiDAR as it walks around your home, and connect connected devices on SmartThings Map View. This gives it a competitive advantage over brands like LG. Ballie can also answer your phone calls and send you messages with updates about your pet. Unfortunately, details such as price, release, and availability are unknown.
best smart lock
Rockley Visage
Lockly Visage is the first home smart lock that uses facial scanning to unlock your door. It works using two 2MP resolution IR cameras to accurately detect faces from approximately 3 feet away. This not only frees up your hands completely, but also allows you to work efficiently within 2 seconds.
Lockly's app lets you store up to 100 facial profiles, set up motion sensors, and control your smart lock over the internet using built-in Wi-Fi. We've used Lockly's Flex and Vision models before, and can vouch for the responsiveness of the fingerprint reader and PIN Genie scrambling features carried over to this model as well. We plan to test out Visage before it goes on sale this summer for $349.
best smart appliances
LG Smart Wash Combo
LG's all-in-one washing machine saves valuable space by combining a washer and dryer into one appliance. Despite its space-saving ventless design, the WashCombo can accommodate his 5.0 cubic feet of large laundry or a king-sized comforter.
When you load your load, the washer's AI uses sensors to detect the fabric, dirt level, and size. This creates optimized cleaning settings almost instantly and completes the job in just two hours. Of course, this appliance ships with LG's ThinQ smart home platform, which lets you check the status of your cycle, control your washer, and receive notifications from anywhere on the web.
The SmartWash Combo WM6998HBA ($2,999, LG) is now available for purchase at LG.com.
best smart security camera
Abode Edge Wireless Security Camera
If you own a larger property, Abode's new wireless Edge security camera features an innovative 1.5 mile Wi-Fi range. This is the first camera to use WiFi HaLow, a low-power, long-range wireless data transmission signal that reaches much further than standard Wi-Fi signals. Its throughput is severely limited to just 150 Kbps to 15 Mbps, but that's still enough for a steady video feed.
Abode hasn't released any specs other than an IP67 weatherproof rating and a built-in 6,000mAh battery capacity that the company claims will last up to a year. The camera goes into deep sleep mode until the motion sensor detects activity, further extending battery life.
The Abode Edge Camera is expected to be available in the first quarter of 2024 and will cost $199. Additionally, you must own the Abode home security system to use it. The most basic setup, the Abode Security Kit, starts at $139.
