What a 65-year-old man allegedly obtained from a woman on the site earlier this year could have cost him his life.
According to court records, on Jan. 23, 19-year-old Rashani Daisha Arndell, also known as Cassidy, exchanged messages with a 65-year-old man called Ronnie on 10 On Your Side. They agreed to meet at the Southside Gardens Apartments on the evening of January 31st.
Although court records did not reveal how the date began, emergency communications and court records revealed how the date ended.
Probable cause documents say the so-called date was an ambush robbery that included six armed men. It is unclear what was taken from Ronnie, but it is known that he sustained a serious injury to his hip. Police said Arndell then jumped into a green 2009 Toyota Camry and fled the scene with two of his six accomplices.
Ronnie now has permanent scars on his upper right hip and left buttock, making it difficult for him to walk and having to use a cane.
Part of the armed robbery and escape was caught on camera. Seven days later, Andel was arrested and his Camry and iPhone were seized as evidence.
Arndell is scheduled to appear in court Friday morning on six felony charges. According to her court records, the violent armed robbery appears to be her first real brush with the law.
