Urban Development Minister Virati Suresh on Friday told the Legislative Assembly that the proposal to issue a 'B' Khata by imposing a one-time fine on all plots in urban local bodies (ULBs) in illegal layouts was proposed by Siddaramaiah. The report has been submitted to the Chief Minister.
In a reply to Congress' K. Harish Gowda, Suresh said a proposal has been submitted to the Chief Minister on the issue of 'B' Katha for illegally developed layout plots in ULBs across the state. .
It was proposed to give 'A' kata to land conversion land and 'B' kata to places where land conversion is not involved. He said the government could generate revenue of 200 billion rupees by imposing a one-time fine on hatha issuance.
He said that despite many facilities being provided to residents in illegal layouts, ULBs are not receiving any tax money.
Chairman UT Khader said many illegal floor plans were uncovered due to the presence of real estate agents in ULBs.
