The Windows 11 Settings app makes it easy to change your keyboard layout with just a few clicks.
Like macOS, iOS, and even Android, Windows 11 is a multilingual operating system. You can already access the Windows 11 Settings app to add new languages to your operating system, but you can also change and tweak your keyboard layout. This is useful if you have an external or internal keyboard that uses a different layout than the standard QWERTY style common in Western European countries and English-speaking countries. All you need is a few clicks.
How to change or tweak your keyboard layout in Windows 11
To change the keyboard layout in Windows 11, you need to click on Time and Language. Section of the Windows 11 Settings app.You can access here by pressing Windows key + I on the keyboard. Once you get there, follow the steps below.
- click language and region.
- Click the three dots below. Add language button inside English (United States) section.
- choose Language options.
- Scroll down and keyboard and select Add a keyboard.
- Select an option from the list.
Once you've added a new keyboard layout, you can easily switch between them. Just click the area on the right side of the taskbar and the current language (for example, ENG US) will be read out loud. It's usually next to the clock.You can also press Windows key + space key Click on the keyboard and press the spacebar to switch between different keyboard layouts. If you want to remove an option, repeat steps 1-5 above, then remove option.
