Snap Layout lets you maximize screen real estate by physically arranging open apps into a specific grid on your desktop (that is, organizing them side by side on the screen). The available layouts allow you to hold apps of different sizes and display them all at once. This article explains how to use the Snap feature in Windows 11.

Select a layout from the snap pane. Depending on your screen size, you'll see either four or six.

The open window will immediately move to the selected position. At the same time, a large pane appears in the unused screen space, allowing you to select other apps to fill the rest of the display. Select zones for those apps or click elsewhere to skip this step.
You can use the taskbar to manage apps in snap layouts. When you hover your mouse over an open app in the Windows taskbar, you'll see a thumbnail that shows both the app and its snap layout app group. Select an app's thumbnail to display it on top of other apps.
How to customize snap layouts in Windows 11
