As Kohl's continues to work to improve sales that have slumped in recent years, the Menomonee Falls-based company announced its latest answer is a new layout inside its stores.
The company said on its first-quarter earnings call that the layout changes reflect changing priorities in what its stores offer and how it wants its stores to be seen.
Here's what we know about the new look layout before the changes take place:
New Kohl's layout puts household items at the front of the store.
Kohl's said it plans to move household goods and gifts to the front of the store. This is an attempt to maximize sales potential in these areas, which have become increasingly important for the company in recent years.
Americana products are a particular priority, as holidays such as Memorial Day and Independence Day present opportunities for immediate success for Kohl's with a heightened focus on home goods.
Kohl's said it plans to add seasonal merchandise, wall art, patio furniture, camping and outdoor gear, and more space for pet supplies.
