EA SPORTS announced today (2).n.d. (June 2023), this year's revised circuit layouts for the Spanish and Singapore GPs will be adopted for F1 23.
The global publishing and development giant is responsible for its second F1 game since its acquisition of Codemasters in 2021 and aims to deliver the best F1 gaming experience ever.
The series has long been criticized for its depiction of tracks, many of which feature the same visuals year after year, but EA SPORTS has promised a configuration that will be used at this season's Spanish Grand Prix, scheduled to kick off this Sunday (4th June) – Appears in-game from release date on the 16thth In June.
The Barcelona-Catalunya circuit has abolished its last low-speed complex, used since 2007, and replaced it with a high-speed right-hand sweep. This means the car will be almost flat out on the last two corners. The move is intended to improve overtaking, but it remains to be seen whether it will actually do so.
Similarly, Singapore's newest Marina Bay circuit will also be coming to F1 23, albeit in a post-release update. Due to redevelopment work, organizers were forced to change the course layout, with the section between Turns 16 and 19 becoming a straight approximately 400 meters long.
