UK-based casting directory Spotlight and Filmmakers Europe, a similar online platform for mainland Europe, have entered into a new cross-platform partnership.
Under the deal, announced this afternoon, the two companies announced the launch of a new “cross-platform integration.” This will enable actors using both companies' platforms to “gain wider recognition among leading casting professionals across Europe and break down industry barriers.” Promoting regional autonomy and diversity while creating opportunities across the continent. ”

Spotlight and Filmmakers Europe announced that they will collaborate on new initiatives, including sharing details of the trial profile sharing period for members of both platforms and creating unified access for agents and casting directors.
“This integration with filmmakers represents a major step forward in our mission to create a more inclusive and expansive casting environment. We offer our members the opportunity to be seen by a wider audience. We are proud to offer this service and look forward to the creative connections that will come from this partnership,” said Matt Hood, Managing Director of Spotlight.

Spotlight recently made headlines after UK actors' union Equity announced that it had filed a lawsuit against the platform for charging actors exorbitant membership fees and “abusing its monopolistic position in the industry.” Ta.
