The Hawaiian SeaLife app, developed by Reef Guardians Hawaiian, is a free tool available to Apple and Android users. This app allows users to identify different marine creatures, learn their names in both English and Hawaiian, and test their knowledge by playing interactive games. The app also includes unique features such as marine life filters, search games, and tips on how to protect our oceans and coral reefs, providing an informative and engaging experience.
Reef Guardians Hawaii's impact extends beyond the app. It focuses on research, restoration, and education related to various aspects of coral reef ecosystems. This includes research on AI and robots in reefs, sharks, sea turtles and corals, as well as Ainakukoa o Waiohuli Kai Restoration, which aims to revitalize damaged parts of coral reefs and address pressing environmental issues. and major restoration projects such as the “Anini Lagoon Restoration.''
