Clean beauty, which uses cleaner ingredients that are better for your skin and the environment, is very popular these days. Many brands are starting to create products with this concept in mind, bringing out cleaner beauty products for makeup lovers. There are many brands out there that aim to create cleaner beauty products, but these are just a few of the many that I can't wait to try.
tower 28
Tower 28 was founded by Amy Louie, whose goal was to create “accessible, non-irritating, high-performance, and fun products designed for all skin types.”
Tower 28 currently stocks makeup products such as tinted SPF, concealer, blush, bronzer, contour, mascara, highlighter, and tons of lipstick.
Starting off with a bang, the first Tower 28 product I ever tried was the Beach Please Cream Blush in the shade 'Office Hour'. This blush is creamy and easy to blend so it's a must have in my makeup bag especially on light makeup days. The next product I tried was the Shine On Lip Jelly in the shade 'Sesame'. I think it's a very moisturizing gloss, not sticky at all, and the color is beautiful. Another product I tried is her Sculptino Cream Contour in the shade “Getty”. I have to say, this is on the warmer side and I actually use it as a bronzer, but it's an absolute staple in my “no makeup” makeup routine. It's creamy, easy to blend, and easy to assemble. Lastly, I've been obsessed with Tower 28's Swipe Serum Concealer “8.0 LBC” lately. Like many people, I was influenced by the many great reviews I saw on Tiktok and it has been one of my favorite makeup products since I purchased it. It is light and creamy and really doesn't feel like anything on my skin. It's my Holy Grail concealer. This is truly a product that is “better than my skin.” I can't praise it enough, it's been my absolute go-to for the past few months and will continue to be as we move into warmer weather.
Moving on to another fairly popular clean beauty brand,
merit beauty
Founded by Catherine Power, Merit Beauty is focused on “creating products that are safe for your body, skin, and planet.”
Despite being a new brand, Merit Beauty is taking the makeup industry by storm. It has become an indispensable item for girls who don't wear makeup. I haven't tried many of their products, but I can't wait to continue exploring their brand!
The first product I tried ended up falling in love with their brand. The Flash Balm Blush in the shade “Après” is one of my favorite berry shade blushes of his. Not only do they come in adorable packaging, but they can also be blended and assembled if you're looking for more pigments. Sometimes this blush can stick to dry areas, but it's one of my favorites for spring and summer. This is the perfect shade for a cherry blush look. After enjoying Merritt's blushes, I decided to try their Perfecting Complexion Stick, The Minimalist, in the shade “Bisque.” This is a product that I end up picking up when I want to do some light makeup. It helps cover dark spots on the face and dark circles under the eyes, but does not leave the skin greasy or patchy. Finally, the latest benefit product I tried is the Slick Tint Lip Oil in the shade “Sangria”. This is currently my top “on the go” lip product. It's very moisturizing and has a beautiful color.
The next clean beauty brand to introduce is:
Ayami
Saie Beauty is a beauty brand founded by Laney Crowell and built on the idea of ”doing good when you feel good.”
All of the products I've tried so far from Saie Beauty have been really good, so I'd definitely like to try more of them, even if they're only available in limited quantities. I'll start with Saie's Glowy Super Gel in Starglow and Sunglow, one of his top three base products. To be honest, I bought the mini version not really knowing what I was getting myself into. I ended up using both until I went out and had to buy another one, but I chose the full size version of “Starglow”. This is not to say it's better than “Sunglow”. I just find myself reaching for it more often. 'Sunglow' is the perfect shade for my tanned, bronzed and glowing summer makeup look. But “Starglow” is my daily glowing base product. I really liked it because it was so light and melted into my skin. I love using it on my collarbones for a totally radiant look. The only other product from Saie that I have tried is Dew Blush in the shade “Chilly”. This is a very buildable blush and I love it when I want a little more color on my face. For this reason, it has become a staple item for winter, and I like the moist yet natural finish. In the future, I would love to try the Glowy Super Skin foundation and Hydrabeam concealer. My makeup bag contains Saie, which has a promising future!
I have a special introduction to my number one mascara from Ilia Beauty, the Limitless Lash Mascara in 'Midnight'. A gorgeous, long-lasting, voluminous mascara that I use every day. If there were 100 fans of that mascara, I would be one of them, if there were 10, I would be one of them, and if there was one, that would be me.
There are so many clean beauty brands to explore. These are just a few of the ones I've tried and really liked. Many brands are on a mission to do better for your skin and the planet by using cleaner ingredients. I can’t wait to continue exploring this particular aspect of beauty and all it has to offer!
