Since the release of update 1.6, stardew valleyConcernedApe has been busy, releasing five patch updates in the last month or so, the latest being 1.6.6.
While 1.6.2 and 1.6.3 were mainly focused on fixes and QoL updates, the developer recently released patch 1.6.4, a fish frenzy, new cutscenes, and four new fairy styles have been added. It also features 40 mine layouts, 20 “alternatives” after reaching the bottom of the mine, and 20 new volcano layouts that appear when you unlock the shortcut between the caldera and the volcano entrance.
With this patch, you can now add 8 additional non-fish items to your aquarium. The Raccoon Shop now includes Mystery Box and Golden Mystery Box deals, and you can now pour vinegar on trees to prevent moss growth. Shaving enchantment now causes tree-specific drops.
The patch notes for 1.6.4 also include a fairly long list of fixes, which you can see here.
Unfortunately, patch 1.6.4 introduced some issues, but thankfully, patch 1.6.5 Fixed the issue. This patch fixes a rare crash that can occur in mines. People using the mod should not have any problems loading save data. A crash when loading Dark Mines levels in some cases has been fixed, and broken villager NPCs (usually caused by her mods that have been removed) are now removed on load. It will be revived when it is re-added to the data.
ConcernedApe didn't stop there. The developer released patch 1.6.6 less than 24 hours ago.
This patch also includes many fixes and some balance and gameplay changes. For example, bee houses now work with potted flowers in the garden, alternate layouts for minecart warehouses now only appear on top or in the lava mine area, and gold clocks can now be turned . 50% Mastery XP, whether on or off, now only applies to things like farming, as originally intended. Full notes can be found here.
Finally, console and mobile farmers who are still wondering when update 1.6 will drop should know. ConcernedApe recently mentioned The port is still “in progress.”
Stardew Valley update 1.6 was released for PC on March 19th, and in our opinion, it's one of the best co-op and Game Pass games you can play.
