Audio emojis were officially announced yesterday on the Pixel 8a and are now available in wide beta on the Google Phone app.
It started showing up to Beta Channel users a week ago and is currently showing up on all Pixel (8 and Fold) devices we reviewed today that are running the Phone by Google preview (version 129). This expressive feature is available in the US and internationally, but won't appear on non-Google phones. The Pixel 8a will be in stores on his May 14th, and a stable launch should happen soon.
A card on the call screen indicates you're live: “Explore new ways to make your calls memorable.” Google touted yesterday that it will “make phone calls more expressive and engaging than ever before.” This is almost an extension of the expressive capabilities of Google Messages.
Try using the clap emoji to praise a job well done, or the laughing emoji after telling your best joke.
Six sounds represented by emojis and their accompanying animations fill the screen.
- clap your hands:applause
- shed tears of joy: Laughter
- party popper: support
- crying face: trombone
- pile of poop: (self-explanatory) fart
- drum: Badamuchis
Voice emojis can be accessed from the call screen or from the three-dot “More” menu that prominently places this feature.in the app[電話設定]>[音声絵文字]and remove both buttons from your Pixel.
